I have a confession to make — this month, we are short of money.

Yep, I am faced with the end-of-the-month/beginning-of-the-month bills, and seeing a (thankfully) small shortfall of money — but not that short.
That gave me the idea for this post — money finding tips!
I was on the phone last night with my friend Liz, and we were sharing ideas on getting by, so I hope you will enjoy these four hints of finding money when needed:
Check your cash back bonus – I got hit with a credit card bill yesterday that made me cringe (I normally pay it off every month). This month, I am gonna call on on my cash-back bonus, which you can apply to the payment needed. Minimum payment was $16, but I have $60 in cash-back bonus. So going to apply that, and that will make the payment needed, and no late fees!
Change is money – Yes, it’s true — All that change floating around your home is money. Raid the jar, the car, the drawers and that bowl by the bed. Take it to your grocery store and put it through the services, such as Coinstar. You will be amazed how much it adds up.
Transfer prescriptions — with a coupon – I used this hint this weekend. Scan those drug and grocery store ads, and look for a “gift card” bonus if you transfer a prescription. You’re going to need it anyway, and this is free money. I transferred one to my grocery store, and netted a $30 gift card for the store. I turned around and used that for this week’s grocery bill — walked out for $9 for a week’s worth of groceries! You’re going to pay the deductible anyway — might as well make it work for you. I’ve done this with two drug stores and one grocery store. Switch ‘em around, and pay yourself!
Garage sale time! – Believe it or not, people will buy your stuff you don’t want. Hard times take hard measures! Clear out the house, the closet, and the garage, and raise money. Read these tips for a garage sale — the writer really put a lot of effort into it — and soon you will have the money to make ends meet this month.
Hope these tips help — I will post emergency measures next.

Hi there,
I looked over your blog and it looks really good. Do you ever do link exchanges on your blog roll? If you do, I’d like to exchange links with you.
Let me know if you’re interested.
Thanks..

Squeeeeeee! I use Citi-card for our all monthly groceries and regular expenses. Then, we typically pay it off at the end of the month so that we don’t have to pay interest.
But, the cool part is that I earn about $50-60 dollars every three months or so. And, not where they give you credit or gift cards, etc. When it adds up over $50.00? You can request a rebate check!!! YAY!!! Mad money for Mama!!!
Keep my change in a zip lock bag in my closet drawer. And, DH let’s me raid all his small change! It adds up to about $50 bucks every four months or so! And, I deposit in kids accounts or in mine if I need extra cash!
Transfered a prescription because it was needed out of town. Got the $30.00 FREEEEE gift card! Unbelievable!!! I’ll be doing that again!!! FREE MONEY! We need the meds!
Havin’ a yard sale in the semi-near future! Cash for Crap!!! Yipeee!
You so speaketh my language! You rocked this post!!!!!!

I just learned this tip from Coupon Mom. If you have an Upromise account- you can keep your account open but cash out your savings so far. We have education accounts for our girls and since I joined in 2003- I’ve only earned $60. But that $60 can go towards a gift I want to get my mother-in-law for Christmas. You should receive your check within 12 weeks so it should be here in time for Christmas or I know it’s coming to use as a credit card payment for the gift.
